The Layering Check Before You Leave
A quick test in the mirror and at the door catches the small discomforts that make layers hard to wear.

Check the temperature swing
Compare the outdoor forecast with the indoor spaces you expect. A removable layer works better than dressing only for the coldest moment.
Move in the full outfit
Sit, reach and close the outer layer. If sleeves bunch or a hem rides up, change the combination before leaving.
Choose the carrying plan
Know where the extra layer will go when you take it off. A piece that has no comfortable way to travel may not be the right one for that day.
How many layers are enough?
As many as the weather and your comfort require; flexibility matters more than a fixed count.
